No-Nonsense Muscle Building Review - Review of Chapter 7 - "Massive Eating"

If you're a seasoned muscle builder, you would know that the most important aspect of building muscle is nutrition and how many calories you can take in. If you're new to muscle building, or someone who's lifted weights for a while but have had no luck with actually packing on the muscle, then you have to learn a lot about nutrition and metabolism. You might have come across an e-book by Vince DelMonte called, "No-Nonsense Muscle Building". Being a former skinny guy himself, Vince puts a lot of emphasis on nutrition and communicates its importance through his e-book, particularly Chapter 7: Massive Eating.1. Why You're Not Building MuscleVince DelMonte first addresses a couple of simple reasons as to why men aren't building lean muscle, even though they're eating a lot. He says that basically, they're either eating the wrong foods, eating at the wrong time, or both. It seems almost too simple, especially to some guys who have stuck by solid meal plans for months on end with n
o results. Unfortunately, it's the truth as Vince goes on to explain and that there are no other reasons that you can't be not building lean muscle if you're eating a lot and lifting weights.2. RMR and Cost Of ActionThis is where a little bit of maths is involved and you have to think about how much you're currently eating and what you do daily. You are instructed to multiply your RMR by your Cost Of Action and that gives you your average caloric outtake and you have to basically take in more calories than those you take out to make sure you satisfy the fundamental rule of weight gain: being in an energy surplus.3. Thermic Effect Of Food and Adaptive ThermogenesisThese are the other factors of muscle weight gain that you have to take into consideration. Thermic effect of food simply refers to the 10-15% of energy required to actually process and take out all the good stuff from the food, while Adaptive Thermogenesis is a fancy word for random or spontaneous actions that resu
lt in strange energy losses, for example people get sleepy or slightly hyper after food meaning that their energy levels would change as a result.Vince combines all 3 points in the Chapter to help men understand where their energy is going and why they haven't built lean muscle yet. There is a lot of energy lost in small activities you're doing when you're not working out and by being aware of this, men will eat much more good calorie foods that will offer their bodies sustenance to rebuild itself.
