Masters and Commanders: How Four Titans Won the War in the West is an intriguing and very interesting novel by Andrew Roberts, historian and biographer. The book takes on a view of four of the most powerful men in the twentieth century namely Winston Churchill, Franklin Roosevelt, George Marshall and Alan Brooke. The book contains a lot of information and evidence that have never been seen before, and actual accounts of Winston Churchill's War Cabinet. I'm not usually a fan of historical books, but the fact that it's about four of the most interesting people I know is enough to make me want to buy it.According to other reviewers, it's a ground-breaking book, full of Andrew Roberts' own take on the passion and drama that took place in 1941-1945 that resulted to the victory of the four men. Masters and Commanders is an interesting read for me in that we will be able to take a look on the formula needed to conquer war and rise victorious amidst enemies and back-stabbing friends.I
t's interesting also because Andre Roberts included diary entries by key players in the history that were directly related to the four titans. In short, Masters and Commanders: How Four Titans Won the War in the West is full of revelations that will make your jaw drop, full of intimate accounts that will leave you in disbelief, and full of unbelievable heroic absurdity that resulted to the history that we know today.Andrew Roberts is a powerful writer. He writes about interesting people in the most interesting and gripping way. Masters and Commanders could not be as successful if it was written by another man, and I believe that the combination of the author and the content is a perfect reason for people to go and get a copy of the book.
