The Divided Mind

The Divided Mind by Doctor John Sarno is amazing. This book is filled with his theory and techniques for helping anyone get out of pain. Now, the good doctor is a doctor of rehabilitative medicine. That means he is a real doctor intent on helping people through our current medical system. He does not go for theories that have no proof of positive results. After years of of working and helping thousands of individuals get out of pain, he has written several books to give his viewpoint and theory. His latest, The Divided Mind, is, I believe, a real culmination of his thought and work. It goes deeply into why he believes his theory and techniques can help just about anyone. Of course, he states that no method can help everybody. His premise is that a real and correct diagnosis of the problem (of pain) can help an individual use these techniques if they are in line with the diagnosis.Sometimes the diagnosis is such that they can get help through surgery or physical therapy. Other
times, the diagnosis seems to be in line with his theory. When the diagnosis for an individual is in line with his theory, his techniques allow his patient or client to help themselves out of pain. For example, my sister had major pain from tendonitis in both forearms, pain in her neck, shoulders, and back from an auto accident, and pain in her hips. She could barely lift anything heavier than a small book. After reading Dr. John Sarno's other book Healing Back Pain (which is a primer of his work, and is developed a lot more in The Divided Mind) after six weeks of using his techniques all her pain disappeared. She can now play tennis, lift anything most average individuals can lift, can help her baby physically, and has no pain whatsoever.I believe Dr. Sarno's book, The Divided Mind, can help anyone regardless of their pain. The diagnosis, however, should be given by a doctor before using the techniques in the book. I recommend this book highly.
