Twilight - Edward Cullen and His Family

Have you ever wondered if there is something out there after life? What does dying look like in the eyes of an immortal? Out of all that are considered supernatural beings, vampires have been the most talked about - you see them in art, you watch them in movies; you read them in books or articles, then and now. Some evidence and witnesses may tell us that they do walk among the living, but can any man claim their existence? At one point in your life I'm sure this thought has touched your mind. More often than not, our very nature gets the best of us - that burning curiosity for the unknown. It is this part of our imagination that Stephenie Meyer has successful made an impact on with her Twilight books. Some of the most interesting characters in this series are the Cullens, who are a family of strange vampires struggling against their very nature in order to be good. This resistance originated from their 'father' Carlisle, who was born in the sixteen-forties and
was raised by an Anglican pastor - who believed strongly of the reality of evil.  During an unfortunate accident, Carlisle was bitten by a vampire - he acted instinctively and hid to save his own life. After his transformation and the realization of what he had became, he rebelled against it and tried destroying himself. After many unsuccessful attempts, he contemplated on his situation and directed his new life towards using his abilities to helping humans - hoping this would appease his predicament. His dedication in protecting human life has been questioned by many of his kind, but revered by those around him who understood his intentions. By resisting the very nature that calls him, he found a higher purpose for his existence and we are offered a great chance to be part of an amazing series of events in a world that at times seems so real.
