Meatball Sundae by Seth Godin - A Review

If you haven't ordered Seth Godin's Meatball Sundae yet, then order it now! In fact, you may want to order two. Your boss needs one as well. I just couldn't put the book down. Here's what I liked:1. The title. The message of title sticks. It gives a mental picture and at least for me it affects my salivary glands to think about trying to stomach a meatball sundae. The title is also useful language when talking with others about social media strategies. I can tell you how many times I've said meatball sundae since I bought the book.2. The message. The message in Seth's book is right on, and it's applicable. As I've spoken with different businesses I've often felt a disconnect between the product and the desire to market through social media. Something in me wanted to make meatball sundaes even though no one would like the taste. I feel free from that need now. Meatballs are fine. Sundaes are great. Mixed together...it sucks. Marketing has changed. Seth identifies how it has c
hanged.3. The voice. I felt like Seth was sitting at the coffee shop talking to me. His blog-like tone makes the message engaging to the point that when I felt the need to ask a question I would just backup and reread the paragraph. This new book is worth the investment of the money and the time it takes to read it. Find a copy today and see how the rules for marketing have changed.
