The author doesn't take the easy way out but still manages to give us our happy ending - nicely done! While the relationship that develops between Liam and Sophie is at the heart of Taking the Heat, the author creates relationships between the entire family that will give the reader a warm, fuzzy, glowing feeling. Through all the ups and downs, this is a 'feel good' read. She's packed quite a few people into this book and sometimes I felt as though I needed a score card to keep track - but there's plenty of material here for several sequels.Enjoy!
