Stop Reading When Stephen King Tells You to Stop

Stephen King wrote an amazing series of a long period of time called The Dark Tower series. It starts out with a book called The Gunslinger which is absolutely fantastic, and he wrote it back in his teenage years and mescaline days. There is an amazing amount of creativity that he displays throughout these novels. There is one book about the Gunslinger growing up which is rather slow, however, in general there is some very unique concepts that come through this book in the sci fi realm. If you have not read this series then it is absolutely essential that you pick this one up even if you dislike Stephen King. However, in the final book you will come to a point where Stephen King tells you to stop reading. Please, stop reading when he tells you to. When he stops the book at that point, everything is the way it is supposed to be and it is a brilliant ending. However, if you continue to read this book, it will likely bother you for the next 10 years like it did for me. Without gi
ving anything away about the ending, there is no peace of mind at the end of this book.It really gives the feeling that he is begging you to stop reading. He is telling you that if there is any way that you can stop, that you really should. But that something in his heart is telling him that he has to write something else even though The Gunslinger has done what he needed to do. For some reason, something appears to be bearing on Stephen King to make him give a different ending then "what should have been."If you have the patience and the ability to stop reading based on what an author tells you, then you should do it. If you want peace of mind, you must stop reading when Stephen King tells you to.
