The Soldiers of Halla by DJ MacHale - Book Review

The Soldiers of Halla by D.J. MacHale is the tenth and final installment in the Pendragon series by the best-selling author and award-winning producer. Speculations about the plot of Soldiers of Halla have come out since late last year to predict the outcome of the monumental final book.In the previous Pendragon series, D.J. MacHale has always included surprising twists with his characters, and with the last book he promises it to be a "killer finale." Since the rise of fantasy novels and the increased popularity because of the Harry Potter series and similar books, a lot of authors such as D.J. MacHale also went that way and have become successful. The Soldiers of Halla includes the same characters as with the previous nine Pendragon adventures, spearheaded by the protagonist Bobby Pendragon and his two best friends, Mark Dimond and Courtney Chetwynde. The story of The Story of Halla is filled with as much fantasy as the previous nine novels, but this time it's more dramatic,
dark, and more action-packed.D.J. MacHale revealed an interesting trivia about The Soldiers of Halla last year in a forum where he said that even before the book was written, he knew that it was the perfect title for his finale. Avid fans of MacHale were able to pick up on what he said so even before the announcement of the release of the final book, a lot of people already knew what the title of the book is. The Soldiers of Halla is set to be released on May 12, 2009.If The Soldiers of Halla gets to be as successful as the previous nine novels, the release of the first graphic novel about the Pendragon series will be released sooner, according to some sources. Personally, I am more excited for the graphic novel than the release of the tenth book because I don't know how I would feel with the final installment. I will either be disappointed or craving for more, but one this will be for sure. Either way, The Soldiers of Halla will be the last, and that for me is a dead end.
