Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is the best book on personal achievement ever written. Hill was commissioned by the steel magnate Andrew Carnegie to see what makes great men of industry truly great.Through interviews with other captains of industries, Hill created a simple template for how a person can achieve their goals. Taking various example from history, from Lincoln to Edison, Hill explains that the reason why most people fail to achieve the goals is that they lack a defined plan and the wherewithal to stick with it. One prevalent example is that Thomas Edison had a plan to make an incandescent bulb. While he had nothing more than a grade school education, he had the two things mentioned previously. It took him nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine times in order for him to get the one combination of elements to get his invention to work.On the show business front, think of all the actors that have been through trials and tribulations. Jack Nicholson did not g
et a major Hollywood role for 18 years of being in the business. Brad Pitt was fired from being an extra. George Clooney used to sleep in a closet at his friend's house in Hollywood. Sylvester Stallone got his first agent only after he spent the night in his office after being turned down by 1500 times in New York. Samuel L. Jackson was playing bit parts since the 80's until he was in Pulp Fiction. If these examples do not inspire you that you can have what you want, then Think and Grow Rich is probably not for you.
