Hp Laserjet Error Codes, What They Mean & How to Fix Those Error Codes

The HP LaserJet has certainly made life easier with its power packed features. However, at the end of the day it is a machine and like all machines is bound to give errors. Here is a list of common error codes along with troubleshooting tips for each HP LaserJet printer right from model number 2 till 9500.



Error code 02: Warm up issues



This error code means it is taking over 3 minutes for your HP LaserJet printer to switch on. Make sure to check the I/O cable for loose connection. There may also be a communication issue between the printer and cable. It could indicate a faulty D.C. power outlet or formatter PCA.



Error code 11: Out of paper



This means that your HP LaserJet is most likely short of paper. Check to see if the sensor arm of the paper tray is damaged or caught somewhere. Check if the tray is empty of paper. It could also be that the paper cassette is missing or the PS2 flag is damaged.



Error code 14: Absence of toner cart



Error code 14 indicates that the toner cartridge is either not properly seated or installed. It could also mean the sensitivity tabs are missing or that the toner cartridge itself is of bad quality. Make sure to check on the right hand tabs of the toner cartridge and that the switch actuator is not bent.



Error code 22: Configuration error



These error codes are typically associated with improper configuration for the computer or the printer. Make sure the I/O cable isn’t damaged. Check if the I/O port on the printer is damaged or not. Also check the EIO card inside slot X of your HP LaserJet printer. Check to see if it has overflowed.



Error code 30: PS error



PS errors refer to a postscript firmware problem. For this you will need to get a new firmware chip for your HP LaserJet to function normally again.



Error code 40: Transfer error



This usually means that there is a disconnection between data transferring from your PC to your HP LaserJet printer. However, it can be rectified if you check on the MIO card. It should have no defects.



Error code 52: Improper scanner speed



This error code implies that the HP LaserJet scanner is having faulty speeds. Check if the scanner motor is damaged and also check if the cable assembly is faulty or not. Sometimes this could be temporary as the scanner maybe facing startup issues.



Error codes 70 and 71: damaged MIO card



This indicates that the MIO card also called SIMMS is faulty or damaged. Either the SIMM slot or the SIMM itself is not compatible with your HP LaserJet printer. That means you will need to get a new SIMM which is compatible.

My home computer has finally died after many years. It 's time to buy something new. This computer is very clear and bright. The keyboard is very comfortable. Compaq Presario CQ61-410US 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)Love this laptop!This is the first laptop I've actually purchased new. The last laptop I had was a Dell Inspiron that I bought used from a friend 2-3 years ago. It was only 512 mb, 40 gb hard drive and single core processor. So, to me this Compaq is a huge upgrade. I love the mouse pad the most. It's metal instead of 'soft' like the Dell Inspiron. I love the number pad as I'm an accountant and am used to the side number pad more than the keyboard numbers. The screen is plenty big too. I actually watched Avatar on it one night and am very impressed with the quality of the playback. I have had this laptop for a week now and it's running better than my Dell Vostro 400 Core 2 duo processor desktop I bought 2 years ago (still on XP). I was able to load the game Spore onto it too with no problems. I'll mainly use this for internet surfing and casual games. Bought mine at Staples for $399 and everyone assures me I received a great buy I'm tickled to find one under $500 with such power and features. The only con I have to this right now is there are no restore disks. The restore is part of the hard-drive so you do not actually have 250 GB of hard drive. I think it was something like 230. I did order the restore disks from HP for $15 just in case the one I made doesn't work for some reason. This laptop is also very light. I'm amazed that it's lighter than my work laptop considering my work laptop is only 10" screen where this one has a 15.6" screen. I highly recommend this laptop especially for students or someone who just wants an inexpensive laptop to see if they even want a computer or not.

There's definitely room for improvement (i.e. battery life and touch pad). It's not something I can't deal with, but others may find it annoying. Setup is as easy as it can get and wireless connection never drops unless there's a problem with my router. The size is perfect not too big... not too small. There's plenty of space on the hard drive as well... Windows 7 hasn't stopped responding as was a huge problem when i had vista and still is when i use my desktop. So the only negatives I have encountered are the touch pad and battery life. The major upside have been windows 7, wireless connection, and size.

But really it's not so bad, better than my last Sony, and I do believe that having the i3 processor (still blazing fast, mind you) minimizes this problem in this configuration. But if heat is your number one concern, sacrifice more computing power and go for one of the new super-mobile types with the dainty processors. They will stay cooler of course. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this purchase and would recommend this HP laptop to my friends, family, and to all of you!

I'm pleased overall - I got it through Amazon and it got here on time (paid for next day svc.) and in perfect shape. Setup as an advanced user was easy. Computer had minimal bloatware (factory installed 3rd part software you usually don't want or need) that was easy to remove - something Dell and HP sure can't manage. The bloatware bluetooth software did more harm than good but once I purged it the internet wireless works perfectly. Haven't decided to keep the face-recognition log on program. The ugly Windows 7 theme can be removed to look like older versions you're used to. My only real complaint about Win7 is that the file folders don't have a "up one level" or "back one step" buttons like XP had. Installing my own choices of 3rd party software was easy. Computer comes with free year of McAfee which I guess you can keep if you like getting viruses - I use Kaspersky, thank you very much - so I purged THAT garbage. I also purged the free trial of Office 2007 so I could install Open Office. Over all not bad. Easy to use for noobs, easy to make usable for pros. 4/5.
BuyingLenovo G560 06793JU 15.6-Inch Laptop (Grey/Black)ALMOST amazingAfter much debate I decided on purchasing a Lenovo G560. Spec wise, an i5 processor, 4gb ram, led screen, sleek design, and lenovo quality made it seem like a great bargain. Off the bat I had to agree. The fit and finish are top notch. I was not bothered by the smuding of the outside because when the screen is open you can't see it! When you are working on the PC, it feels like a desktop, the space is utilized very well. The appearance is minimalistic and sleek. IMO if it had chiclet style keys it would be even a more beautiful interior setup than apple. The keyboard is nice to type on. The shift button is a bit small but this didn't really result in any functional problems. In addition, the number pad is a bit cramped, especially if you have big fingers. I did not have that much trouble with the track pad as others. It has a nice textured feel and supports multitouch. The integrated buttons although appear nice, are a bit cumbersome because it seems like the whole pad clicks, but you must press in the designated area for it to work. I use a great wireless mouse so this is not an issue. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. The only screen that looks better is the high resolution optional screen on the apples. Windows 7 works very fast on this computer with super fast start up and shutdown. Windows 7 in general is pretty sweet and IMO if you are used to windows, provides much of the "it just works" features of a mac with the familiarity of a PC. So at this point, I LOVE the computer. Heres the downfall, I am listening to music and it sounds just beautiful. I notice my battery is starting to fade so I plug it into the wall. Buzz buzz buzz, there is static from my headphones! Remove the plug, no buzz, put it back, buzz. I've read about this happening on other computers and everyone says oh just get a hum reducing this or that but when i'm spenind $700, I don't want to buy adapters to reduce humming! Although with loud music this isn't and issue, I do my work with soft instrumental music and in lulls and in between songs I can hear it and it drives me crazy. In addition, it is supposed to have fan management to reduce heat and fan noise. This feature seems to work well most of the time, but sometimes, it goes into this mode where it will turn on for 30 seconds, then off for a minute, and repeat for several minutes and is somewhat annoying. Again, it was only noticable because I was in a very quiet setting. Overall, this computer is neaaaarly amazing, but it has some issues, that for me, are just too significant to continue dealing with. Verdict: will return the computer, hope lenovo addresses these issues and will either buy another lenovo, or go back on the hunt.
