The Ponderings of a Master Key

The Master Key Course is a powerful source of information for learning, understanding, and applying the energy of thought in relation to shaping one's life. Many have used the knowledge shared in this book as a tool to change lives for the better. Popular teachings such as what is found in books like "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolian Hill and the far-famed movie "The Secret" are perfect examples of how interested people are in this is type of knowledge. Like "The Master Key System" they all point to the importance of focusing on improving mental thoughts as the ground level of improving the quality of life. The Master Key System was written in 1912 by Charles F. Haanel, and it is considered the master key to understanding the concepts, principles, and practicality of choosing to think thoughts with intent to create desired outcomes. As the course is a progressive learning system, it is warned not to read the book as a novel but to focus on one chapter a week. This is what the w
riter felt was best for those taking the course back in the early 1900's. Although some concepts such as meditation and visualization taught in this 1912 published book are more commonly accepted in today's time, the course is still valued with Haanel's insightfulness. As he uncovers basic principles, Haanel makes it easy to understand the logic of training our brain to think in a productive way.As it is suggested to master this twenty four week course one week at a time, you may find one or a few of the lessons not taking the full seven days to master. In my personal experience I feel, regardless of how long each lesson takes to master, the importance is to keep the focus on progressive learning. There are also cautions from skeptics for readers to consider careful examination rather than easily adapting to the information taught in this course. Haanel himself warns not to read the book as a novel, as well as for the student of this course to be committed to the life changin
g applications without fail. Those who are skeptical of the law of attraction's relevancy in both Haanel's day and modern day, warn that the teachings in this course can be dangerous. As in any case when many perspectives are present, it is best to acknowledge disputes and ultimately think for one's self. The Master Key System can be read as suggested in a way for progressive learning or it can be read like a novel in simply getting to know the material of what the author is sharing. The warning not to read this course like a novel can easily be understandable when considering it as a course for introducing new concepts and most likely unheard of reasons to consider thoughts as a core measure of shaping lives in the early 1900's.In my opinion this book is an excellent source of information. I have found it to personally enhance understandings of spiritual perspectives. It has awakened the senses and stimulated necessity for application. However as I stated earlier, anyone rea
ding this book should think for themselves in how to respond to the information shared in it.

As his uncle shows up on his door step Evyn thinks that this could lead to trouble! They all go to the village meeting and celebrate
and are merry. Evyns uncle has a little too much to drink and disrespects some nobles; this outrages them and leads to the big battle. In the end of this battle Evyn gets the only talent he has taken away from him, his tongue! This is where everything begins. Evyns tongue getting cut off leads to a series of very tragic events. He betrays Evyn and shows us that he is a selfish sneak! The characters correspond with the plot, as the story progresses, characters start to open up and show their true colours. Earl Harold, or also know as King Harold is a very king and gentle person. Though he may seem like an intimidating man when he opens up to Evyn he changes to his kind true self. The characters in this novel are very well portrayed. Their personalities shine and they connect with each other fluently. Elizabeth Alder did an amazing job at showing who the characters really are. The characters in the novel are very original and are portrayed superbly. The novel, King's Shadow has many messages in it. Some are pretty obvious and some
are hidden. The novel portrays the theme of never giving up hope. Never giving up hope is everywhere in the novel. Evyns tongue getting cut off was the death of him until new opportunities opened up to him. King Harold thought that the battle of Hastings was lost. They never gave up hope even if they were going to lose. The novel also shows the theme of destiny. Evyn was destined to be a serf and then a mute but all of that change. It didn't matter of his nobility, all that mattered is that he never gave up hope and believed which led him to a better life. Never giving hope and destiny up are key themes in this novel. They are both deeply expressed in the characters lives and the novels plot.As you can see King's Shadow is a fantastic novel full of great characters an intriguing plot, meaningful messages, descriptive detail and much more the makes it so great. This book has a bit of something for everyone. The characters suck in people and make them care deeply for their fa
te and lives. They are varied, the plot is very intriguing. Each scene is full of something new and interesting. You will never want to put the book down due to all the new twists and detail being introduced. The themes and messages in the book are clearly expressed through the novel. The author used fantastic detail when describing the scene it makes you feel as if a person were there. The author looked at this book at every aspect and made sure to harmonize all the great things in it. The characters, the plot, their all amazing!

How To Find The Perfect Pulse Oximeter On Google

It comes as no surprise that in fact Google is the major search engine in the entire world. More people search Google than any other search engine and the actual statistics are staggering and significantly different than the other search engines. There is also Yahoo which is a good runner-up as far as search engines are concerned however it does not compare with the power of the Google. Some of the best products to purchase online are actually medical devices and medical supplies. The reason for this is that you are confident that you will be getting the absolute best price online. Why are they able to offer the best price? Well the reason is the fact that they lack much of the overhead that a typical store would have such as the actual store and other costs that come with having a brick and mortar establishment. With the online venue you simply go to Google and type in exactly what you are looking for an get an exact read out of all of the products that you need. One of the m
ost popular products t purchase online is a actually a pulse oximeter. This device is a medical and health device that in essence measures pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation of individual's with a different variety fo health conditions and ailments. The device is very portable and that is one of the major reasons that it is so popular because those individuals with the health conditions can actually take it with them wherever they want to go. They are no longer tied down by those pesky wires that had come with the previous pulse oximeter models that were found in hospitals and clinics. You simply go online, search pulse oximeter in Google and within seconds you get a entire listing of stores that carry the product. You order from the comfort of your home and can easily use your device the second you receive it in the mail.

Achieving Permanent Healthy Weight Loss: Your Self-Image Is the Key

Healthy weight loss success will not last unless you change your self-image, and this is why 95% of people who lose weight gain it right back.  There's a lot of good advice on the internet and in book stores about how to raise your metabolism and how to lose weight the healthy way, and still people all over the nation lose weight only to gain it back again. This is because many of these books don't include the essential steps required to change a person's self-image. How important is the self-image when it comes to achieving lasting weight loss results? In this article, we'll be talking about how your self-image makes or breaks your ability to achieve healthy weight loss and to keep the results which you have achieved...Your Self-Image Sets the StandardPeople's consistent actions aren't determined by how talented they are or how motivated they are. Instead, their consistent actions are determined by their self-image.  Do you know anyone who is attractive but who doesn't beli
eve it? Most likely, they don't act beautiful. The same is true with talent and with everything else that people possess. A person's self image determines what character traits and skills they consider to be a part of their identity and these are the character traits and skills that a person uses in their everyday life.Sure, you can force yourself to behave in a way which is inconsistent with your self-image, but you can only keep this up for so long. Eventually, your self-image will subconsciously motivate you to start acting in a way which is consistent with the way you see yourself. This is how someone can be "motivated" to live healthy and keep it up for a while, only to give up and go back to their old habits. This is how someone can receive a raise or a promotion, and still be living paycheck to paycheck.Attempting to force actions which aren't consistent with your self-image is like holding your breath under water. You can do it for a certain amount of time by sheer f
orce of willpower, but eventually your body will force you to come to the surface...and when you do you'll be gasping for air. This is similar to how people go on crash diets, but start eating like crazy when they get off the diet...and of course you know what happens when.So if you want to achieve healthy and lasting weight loss, you must strengthen your self-image and make it consistent with the actions and habits of a healthy lifestyle. This is the missing link when it comes to achieving healthy weight loss.

Little Caesar - Play Script Review

Being involved in the industry, Hollywood that is, requires a careful skill in reading play scripts and movie scripts, a talent that I have never been able to master myself. Maybe that's why I had to retire early rather than making the big bucks that people make around here in Sunny Southern California.Nevertheless in my on-going continuation as a writer, I do realize that if you want to write a good play script or a movie script then you need to be able to know a good one when you see it. This is why I am happy to report a wonderful play script that I recently read and recommend to all budding authors and writers:"Little Caesar" by Francis Edwards Faragoh - 1981 (first published in book form). This play script and screenplay by Francis Edwards Faragoh, was based on the novel that was written by the famous author W.R. Burnett and I would advise you to read the novel second and the play script first, so that you can get a good idea of the difference that is required for both ty
pes of writing. Francis dutifully dashes characters to life in the playscript and adds meaningful, humorous and drama packed dialogue. It's no wonder that this play made it into a Turner Classic Movie programming in the series; Sight and Sound.A friend asked me if I would indeed, recommend this book to someone. If someone was of high literary caliber and interested in the arts or the art of movie making, playwriting, acting or screenplay writing, my answer is a strong; "Yes, Absolutely!" And thus if you fit that mold, you need a copy for your library and this great work in your head, so please consider it an A+ work and while you are at it, be sure to recommend this work to a friend as well.

365 Water Saving Tips

365 Water Saving TipsHinkler BooksWritten By Louise CoulthardReview 1 Star - Stay away fromHow the blurb describes the book:Saving water is simple and easy.Discover how to save water around the house, in the kitchen, laundry, bathroom, toilet, and garden, as well as how to check for leaks.Kids can be water savers too, with a section of fun activities and projects.Mr Home Budget's ReviewThere is almost a big red flag when you read the title of this book. 365 water saving tips, it seems as if they came up with the title first, then tried to fit a book around it. I guess the reason they used the number 365 is because it's meant to be one tip for each day of the year. There is no mention in the book that there is one tip for every day of the year. Now this would be great if there were 365 ways to save water. However, as the author has struggled to come up with tips; they have repeated the same tips, just in different sections of the book. For example, they use the same tip for the
bathroom sink, but write it in a different way for the kitchen sink. This book would have been a lot better had they written X number of original tips. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh but once you have read the same tip three or four times just in different locations it can get a bit boring. On the upside, this book does supply some good facts and information about water. Some of the better or more unusual tips which we have taken on board are:"Soak lawns every few days instead of a small amount every day. Small amounts of water are more likely to evaporate before penetrating the soil. You'll also help your lawn become more drought resistant and develop a strong root system.""Have a navy shower! Used by sailors to conserve water on sea voyages, this is a great water saver. Simply turn on the shower, wet your body, turn off the water, then soap, shampoo and lather, and turn on the shower long enough to rinse off.""Did you know leaking toilets can be the biggest cause of water wast
e in your household? A silent toilet leak can waste 150 litres or more a day. That's over 50,000 litres a year. Obvious leaks can waste even more."Some of the ones which are just plain obvious and bring the book down are:"Ensure all taps both inside and in the garden are always turned off tightly, so they don't drip. However, don't force taps as you can damage them and actually cause leaks.""Some people reduce the number of showers they take in summer by regularly swimming in their pool, especially after exercise or before bed."Unfortunately, the book almost seems thrown together over a few weekends than really thought through. The ideas repeat on themselves far too much, and the really good ideas are few and far between. Only if you really need to save every last drop of water is this book worth a read, otherwise steer clear. One out of five stars.Pros: Has some tips which you can probably put into use right now.Cons: Repeats far too many tips which have just been written s
lightly different right throughout the book. Some tips are plain crazy and no human being should be following them.Seems slapped together, rather than thought out.

"Promises in Death" by JD Robb - Book Review

It is difficult in itself when you lose someone you love but it is even more difficult when you need to tell it to somebody who you know will be devastated with the news. How do you tell someone that somebody they loved so much died? Do you tell it upfront like it's an ordinary occurrence? Although this may be the most difficult and heart-wrenching thing to do, it is something that will force you to discover how complications and special relationships are. This is one of the dilemma of the character of Eve in J.D. Robb's Promises in Death. Eve is tasked to deliver the news of the death of cop to their closest friend.Death happens to all people. No one can escape it. As they say, the only things that humans cannot escape is death and taxes. But even if we know this, when death strikes to us, we stop and feel shocked, as if something that should not happen has just happened. It may be because we hide the thought of death very deep in our minds. We always tell that death happens
but not to us and not to our loved ones.Maybe that is the reason why it is difficult to accept the news of a death of a loved one. One day you are with them. You had the opportunity to show your love to them but as most humans, you become afraid that the gesture will not be returned. There are words that you wanted to say but you weren't able to because you were afraid of feeling awkward. You didn't know that that was the last opportunity to say it. You didn't know that the next thing you see that person will be the day of their burial. This and much much more is in store for you fans and beginner readers Robb. For a more in-depth Promises in Death by J.D. Robb book review, check out this this site that introduced me to the book.

Death Match by Lincoln Child - Book Review

Having recently felt the urge to read thriller novels that would keep me awake all night, I tried a few novels by some authors I had not read before. Most of these books I did not even finish, since they bored me so much that I felt I would rather sit and watch the grass grow. I must add that they were real insomnia-busters (I'm not going to name them, though!).Then I picked up Death Match. I have actually delayed reading the book, since the cover on the paperback version that I possess really did not look very inspiring. But, boy, was I surprised! Eventually I found a thriller novel that would fulfill the premise of keeping me awake all night. I have only read one work of Lincoln Child in conjunction with Douglas Preston, which I thoroughly liked, but since this one was a solo effort, I did not know what to expect.Eden Incorporated is a company that has developed match-making software running on a supercomputer. Their software is able to find close matches for clients runnin
g through millions of criteria, and ensuring a very close match -- and this is why clients are prepared to fork out thousands of dollars to allow Eden Inc. to find their perfect partner in life. They even have matched so-called "super couples" who are clients that have been matched one hundred percent by the software and who decided to get married. It all seems very idyllic, until one super couple is found dead and it appears that they have mysteriously committed suicide. To make matters worse, it happens again, and again with other super couples. The main character, Dr. Christopher Lash is a psychologist who specializes in marital relationships. He also has an understanding of criminal behavior, since he was previously employed by the FBI. Because of his unique background, Dr. Lash is brought in by the officials at Eden Inc. to aid in the investigation of the suicides of these super couples, because the news about the deaths is starting to get very bad for business.Death Matc
h 'turned' out to be quite a page-turner, and although it started off a bit on the slow side, the pace was quickly stepped up and became more frantic towards the end. The plot was well-crafted and the characters engaging.I especially liked how Mr. Child developed the character of Dr. Christopher Lash, and how he brought in some ghosts of his past life in the FBI to start haunting him again in his investigation of the suicides of the so-called "super couples" of Eden Incorporated. I also found the female character, Tara, very interesting, and seeing that she played a very prominent part later on in the book, I would have liked to see her developed a bit further.Having an IT background myself, I could relate to the computer hardware and software jargon in the book, but I think it should be easy for the reader with an average knowledge of the field to grasp. I did some research and found that Lincoln Child also has an IT background, and that is why he was able to write so easil
y about the subject. However, I must add that all the computer hardware explosions at the end was a bit over the top for me -- it seemed as if Mr. Child tried to write for the view made popular by Hollywood regarding the special effects rendered by computer hardware put under severe stress.All-in-all, I want to congratulate Lincoln Child on an excellent thriller, and providing me with a story that I found very hard to put down.

Historically Speaking

I always hated my History classes. I learned early on that History was a dull, mundane subject most often taught in monotone by a bearded, middle-aged man with rancid coffee breath. The tedious tasks of reading massive text books and answering summary questions at the end of each chapter, all while the "teacher" read the paper or silently graded the latest pop quiz, left me listless. I stopped paying attention and I did the minimum amount of work necessary. I memorized dates, names, and facts, but purged them from my mind soon after the unit test was completed. And why not? When would that knowledge prove useful in my life, other than during the occasional game of Trivial Pursuit? However, it appears I have been mistaken in my disdain for history. In a personal endeavor to improve my knowledge of historical events, people, and facts, I am discovering that there are some fascinating stories to be learned. Reading about the characters, personality traits, trials, and trib
ulations of historical figures is so much more interesting than simply memorizing the dates relevant to that person. Here are a few books that I have read and enjoyed recently, all excellent examples of how history can, in fact, be engaging.1. In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex, by Nathaniel PhilbrickI hated reading Moby Dick in high school. A chapter dedicated to how to tie knots? Another focused on the process of removing the blubber from a whale? Dull, dull, dull! This book, however, is the true tale of the American whaling ship whose plight was inspiration to Herman Melville. It is a story of survival, tragedy, and adventure that depicts the desperate measures men will take when faced with their own demise.2. Sea of Glory: America's Voyage of Discovery, the U.S. Exploring Expedition, by Nathaniel PhilbrickAlthough not as dramatic or intense as In the Heart of the Sea, this book by the same author introduces the reader to an under-apprec
iated event in American history. It provides a glimpse into the personalities behind the U.S. Exploring Expedition, including it's captain, Charles Wilkes. Political intrigue, scientific discoveries, and world exploration abound. The book is a slow read at times, but it was fascinating to learn about the controversy over who actually discovered Antarctica and how the islands of the Pacific were charted.3. The Skeletons on the Zahara, by Dean KingYet another story of survival, this is the true tale of twelve American sailors who were stranded on the African continent in 1815. Following the destruction of their ship, the men are faced with captivity, slavery, and the harsh conditions of the Sahara desert.4. The Lost City of Z, by David GrannThis book tells the story of Percy Fawcett, his search for the legendary "City of Z", his disappearance into the unforgiving wilderness of the Amazon, and the countless explorers since who have sought to solve the mystery of his disap
pearance. I've always thought that someday I would see the Amazon. I love to travel, and the prospect of taking a boat ride down the massive river and exploring the jungle and the canopy, has always been appealing to me. Not so much, after reading this book. The detailed descriptions of the bugs, parasites, pests, and maladies of the area will give you nightmares!Okay, so it's true that Squirt still knows more about history than I do. However, I do take some comfort in knowing that, with each book, I'm increasing my knowledge just a little bit. Upon finishing each book, I curse my past teachers for their inability to suck me into a story in the same way as the authors did. I sincerely hope that my children's History teachers engage them with intimate stories of real people, captivate them with true tales of adventure, and charm them with legends of discovery. Since I was not so lucky in my educational experiences, I will take the challenge upon myself to continue rea
ding. In fact, I'm considering making it a New Year's resolution to read a minimum of 5 (okay, maybe 3) historical non-fiction books in 2011. Any recommendations?

Move Over Harry - Artemis Fowl is Here

At the time when the Wizard in training (Harry Potter) changed the publishing landscape of the world, publishers have quickly begun to compete with each other to discover the next Harry Potter. Hyperion and Talk Miramax Books have found him in - hold your breath - Artemis Fowl.Die Hard with FairiesThe author Eoin Colfer himself describes the series as the Die Hard with Fairies, in which the 12 year old protagonist considers himself as a criminal mastermind who fights LEP-recons. The columnists the world over have also reacted enthusiastically, asking Harry Potter to 'move over'. In an auction at eBay, an advance copy of the book was sold for $46.Everyone Wants the RightsThe book itself was auctioned to Penguin Puffin U.K. by the agents Sophie Flicks. Later the book was sold to Miramax Films as well as to the Talk Miramax books. The bidding for the foreign rights soon converted into a war, with everyone trying to get the rights to the book. The Talk Miramax Books people say th
e publishing grapevine about the book was extremely positive, and then they heard their film side was also interested in it, and thus started their joint effort to get the rights.Editors Stunned By the Imagination of ColferThe Editor In Chief of the Talk Miramax Books said he was stunned by the unrivalled imagination of the author. Although they have not disclosed the exact sum paid, it is said to be a nice six figure sum. The Oscar nominated director Sheridan is working on the first movie version in collaboration with Eoin Colfer, and the project size is going to be multi-million- Euro one. The movie versions of other children's books have been awaited eagerly in the recent past though the ownership rights have often been disputed.Movie Project Is Moving AheadThe author Eoin Colfer, however, said the movie project is moving ahead nicely and that he is working closely with the director though he cannot reveal more about the project. It has not been decided whether the projec
t will be shot with animated characters of real actors. The director Sheridan himself is more in favor of live action, since he is in love with the protagonist Artemis Fowl and the stories. The director Sheridan and the author himself want the movie to be shot in Ireland though the decision may be changed keeping cost and location constraints in the mind. The production company executives believe there will be high level of computer imagery required so the final decision on where to shoot the project cannot be rushed still.

What Is Intuition?

Intuition is defined as: the ability to understand something without conscious reasoning; a thing that one knows from instinctive feeling rather than conscious reasoning.Intuition is often confused with some similar concepts:1. Intuition is often mistakenly called instinct. Instinct refers to an inborn behavior as opposed to a learned behavior. Instincts are biologically-based, with the intention of promoting survival long enough to reproduce. All animals are driven by instinct and we have instincts too - fear of heights, the fight or flight response, etc. These are not intuition. When you're in a dangerous situation, yes, instinct will kick in; if you're in a non-threatening situation and you feel uneasy, it's probably your intuition!2. Intuition, or a gut feeling is a strong physiological response to information that has come into our consciousness in ways outside the physical senses - it's called a gut feeling because it's often felt in the stomach or in the heart area. It c
an be anxiety or nausea, or a good feeling of lightness... (or other feelings) depending on the information received.3. Inspiration is the "process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something", usually referring to something creative. Some have called it a higher form of intuition. Intuition is a sense about something; inspiration is complete with images and even instructions.4. Insight refers to looking within for answers. This, too, relies on the nonphysical senses and thinking in a more nonlinear, less constrained way. Intuition and insight are closely intertwined; both arise from our ability to perceive the energetic quality of things, people, thoughts, etc.Reasoning And LogicAs a culture, we've been taught to rely on reasoning and logic. And so, when we get hunches and gut feelings, we often dismiss them. Intuition often comes in the form of weird cryptic messages in dreams or physical sensations that have nothing to do with what the senses perceive. But this n
on-logical way of thinking is just as valid! We have all picked up on the vibe from certain people or places. There is a part of us, separate from our logical thinking, that picks up on the energy around us. We've all had moments when conscious reasoning said GO yet we have a strong feeling to STAY - or the reverse.Have you noticed that when you take action on the inner voice, it often ends up being a really good idea?RationalizationYou know that it's easy to rationalize and talk yourself into or out of something. This is often based on logic and often constrained by self-imposed limitations. Say you have a goal in mind, but because you lack the skills and resources to achieve it, you rationalize letting the goal go - "it wasn't meant to be".BUT... if you were to listen to your intuition, you might realize that you actually feel really good when you think about your goal!If you allow yourself to think in terms of possibility (you can acquire the skills/resources) instead of p
resent reality (you don't have the skills/resources) then your decision to go for it will be easier.Reason And IntuitionWe need both reason and intuition to make the best decisions. Otherwise, why is our brain set up the way it is? Neuroscientists estimate that only 20% of the brain is devoted to logical, conscious thought. That means that 80% is dedicated to non-conscious thought. If you allow intuition, you'll use your whole brain for decision making, integrating the linear, logical way of thinking with the random, nonlinear way of thinkingLearn to listen to your body for clues if you're just getting used to listening to intuition. Ultimately, if a decision feels good and happy, it's right. If you feel tension, anxiety, etc., re-think your decision. You can do this before you make a big decision, for example whether to leave a job. You hate the job. It wears you down and you'd rather do something you're good at and love... but it's a decent paycheck and the economy is terri
ble.Now what?Tough choice...So engage your imagination. Pretend you've made the choice to leave, and monitor your physical and emotional reaction. Then, pretend you've chosen to stay in the job. Again monitor your physical and emotional reaction. There will be a remarkable difference. You can apply this technique anytime you're faced with a difficult decision. Weigh the facts, and then listen to your intuitive guidance without judgment or ridicule. Sometimes, intuition and logic come to the same conclusion. Sometimes, they differ. For best results (which you may not perceive at the moment), DO WHAT FEELS RIGHT.We have this amazing ability to talk ourselves into doing what is not aligned with our soul's desires. When we listen to the inner voice, we end up following a much easier, happier path than if we relied on logic alone.

Bible Study on Revelations - Will You Take 666 in Your Forehead If Your Pastor Says It's Ok?

It seems like the Christian world is in harmony on the idea that the mark of the beast will be at heart of a new policy that will be imposed on the world in the last days. And, of course, a Bible study on Revelations 13 will bear that out.The problem that I have with the way it is often presented is the impression that is given concerning how this policy will be implemented. Many preachers out there are giving the impression that the world will be ordered at 'gun point' and forced to take 666 in their foreheads and right hands. The popularity of this idea is an indication that many prophecy students do not understand that the message of Revelation 13 is much more than about how the inhabitants of the earth will take the mark of the beast. If you should do a diligent Bible study on Revelation 13, from the first verse to the last, you will see that the whole point of this vision given to John is essentially about how the world will be DECEIVED into accepting a new religious schem
e that they would not accept under normal circumstances. As the end of the world draws near we are going to see a dramatic change in the way we practice our religion; our worship services are going to be different from what we know it to be today.Let us not fool ourselves into believing that this is going to be the work of some 'outside enemies' encroaching on our religious liberties. When the new religious order is introduced, it will elicit the cooperation of religious leaders of small and large congregations! Believe it or not, many pastors are going to sell the new religious order to their membership and make it appear to be something good and necessary! We need to understand that in order for the system associated with mark of the beast to become a reality the following must be in place:• NO USE OF FORCE POLICY. The mark-of-the-beast policy will not get the cooperation of the world in the way the Bible prophesied it if it is to be implemented purely by force of arms.
Therefore, extreme despotism will not be a policy priority.• RELIGION WILL HAVE TO PLAY A ROLE. The spontaneity with which the world embraces this new geopolitical system could not be possible without the use of religion. Because man is naturally a worshipful, social being, it will not be enough to satisfy his economic and geopolitical expectations; you will have to give him religion to answer to his spiritual needs.• THE WORLD WILL HAVE TO BE DECEIVED. If the world is being thoroughly warned of this evil mark every day through different media, it will take a massive deception of its inhabitants to get them to change their thinking and accept this mark as if they have never been warned.• WELL-KNOWN INDIVIDUALS WILL BE INVOLVED. In order to deceive the world into accepting the mark of the beast it will have to be the work of well-known individuals with enormous influence in the world. It takes more than a set of fly-by-nights with little no credibility or clou
t on the international stage to get the support of the world for such a policy. In your Bible study on Revelations 13:16 and 17, you will notice that economic a will be imposed on those who refuse to cooperate with this new world policy. My main reason for dismissing the credibility of the argument that the mark of the beast will be implemented by force of arms stems from this observation. If you won't be able to buy or sell but rather be left to suffer privation for not taking the mark of the beast, then why would military repression be needed to implement it?As I stated in a previous article, the use-force-policy will be implemented for those who oppose the new religious scheme. A cursory Bible study on Revelations 13:15 will clearly show that there will be a death decree against those who refuse to worship the image of the beast. When this prophecy is fulfilled, you will be forced to make a decision one way of or the other. It is at that point that the true saints will be d
istinguished from the half-hearted. The world will then be sharply divided into two camps - the worshippers of the beast, and the worshippers of Jehovah. Make sure that you are found on the right side when this prophecy is fulfilled!

Information is Dangerous - A Review of "The Dangerous Book for Boys"

Right about now I can already hear the groaning beginning from moms across the country: "Summer's almost here! What am I going to do with these kids?" Don't abandon them to the TV, for starters, and don't over schedule them. Instead, give them a summer with nothing to do, and the tools to do it with.Around our house, we often joke that we're raising 19th century kids. A lot of the source materials we use in homeschool are from that era--for instance, the McGuffey readers and speller.Among our very favorite books are the "Handy Books" of Dan Beard and his sisters, proto-scouting manuals for the late 19th century kid looking for cool things to do that still work splendidly for 21st century kids looking for something to do. Even so, many of the activities in those books don't work for today, not least of which because we're not as rural as we used to be.Enter The Dangerous Book for Boys, a bestseller in the UK that's just being published here in the States. Brothers Conn and Hal
Iggulden have put together a handsome volume of which Dan Beard would approve. To put it to the test, I gave a copy to two actual boys, Simon and Jonah, the closest things I have to nearby nephews. (I have to say their mother was not thrilled with the book's title, especially considering these two often mistake themselves for elven archers.)13-year-old Simon says:The "Dangerous Book" is a very clever bit of writing. It encompasses all of the things that kids don't think about much these days, like semaphore flags, building a go-cart, famous battles, and things like that. It's full of experiments, projects, and random facts. If you open it up to any page, you'll probably have learned something when you close it.For example, there are instructions on how to build a trip wire. It requires fishing line, batteries, tinfoil, and a clothespin. Then there's a paragraph detailing how real trip wires are used and where it works best. On another page, you can find information on how to
cook a rabbit, or tan leather. All in all, it was quite good. It would have been nice if the information was ordered in some way, rather than randomly throughout, but this is definitely a cool and interesting book. And 11-year-old Jonah says:"The Dangerous Book for Boys" is a very cool book. it has all the things that an energetic boy would want. it shows all kinds of things like how to make a tree house, the rules of soccer, and how to make a bow and arrow [see what I mean?]. It also has some very interesting diagrams that show things like the different pirate flags and the fifty states. This book is a fantastic work of art. Thank you, boys. Now don't get your mother mad at me and put an eye out or anything.(Actually, what makes the book "dangerous" isn't that it's filled with risky activities; it's filled with information and ideas. These days, thinking for yourself automatically makes you dangerous, especially if you're under age 18.)Among the instructions for playing mar
bles, making secret ink, "extraordinary stories," cloud formations and bits of Shakespeare is a chapter entitled "Girls." It is not aimed at girls, rather it is aimed at helping boys understand girls: "[A]s a general rule, girls do not get quite as excited by the use of urine as a secret ink as boys do." Indeed. The eight bits of advice will endear just about any boy to just about any girl. I would add only: Learn to dance. The only thing wrong with this book is that there is no companion book for girls (though my oldest girl thinks it's pretty nifty and there's no reason a girl wouldn't enjoy it, really). At least that was my first thought; upon reflection, the bookshelves for girls these days are bent under the weight of thousands of tomes; let the boys have their moment. Even so, this house would welcome a "Dangerous Book for Girls," as long as it's not pink. If it were pink I'd have to chuck it at the publisher's head.Get your bored boys The Dangerous Book for Boys, equip
them with the (minimal) supplies on the first page, and stand back. They'll have a full summer!

In Search of Excellence - Lessons from America's Best-Run Companies

The premise. In 1982 Tom Peters and Robert Waterman released a study of 43 firms that had been rated excellent by passing a series of "business tests" they had devised. They concluded in In Search of Excellence that there were 8 keys to excellence that were shared by all 43 firms.A little bit on the dry side, but well worth it if you have the time. I read this one a while back and had to flip through it again to refresh my memory... and I'm glad I did. Consider this book to be the Consumer Reports/JD Power for companies back in the early 80's. It is still studied at some business schools. The 8 Keys to Excellence:1. A bias for actionDo it. Try it. Don't waste time studying it with multiple reports and committees.2. Customer focusGet close to the customer. Know your customer.3. EntrepreneurshipEven big companies act and think small by giving people the authority to take initiatives.4. Productivity through peopleTreat your people with respect and they will reward you with product
ivity.5. Value oriented CEOsThe CEO should actively propagate corporate values throughout the organization.6. Stick to the knittingDo what you know well.7. Keep things simple and leanComplexity encourages waste and confusion.8. Simultaneously centralized and decentralizedHave tight centralized control while also allowing maximum individual autonomy. All managers / directors / CEO CTO CFO's should re-read this one.I have several other books that I've reviewed like this, so feel free to check them out. In general I feel that most business books are only there to sell you on one big idea, and the whole book is written around that idea. Unless of course, it's a book by Malcolm Gladwell, and then it's genius.

IZEE "Growing Up In A Logging Camp": Reality Intertrude Insert Between Ch1 and Ch2

Reality intertrudeAs MS (multiple Sclerosis) is doing such a fine job of devastating my mortal body, I thought it prudent to begin writing my life story. At least, to recall some parts of it that have had significant impacts on me becoming who I think I am. If I wait for someone else to write it - I won't be around read it. If I delay any longer to begin, I may not be able to remember my life - at all.I suppose that it's normal to want people to say nice things about you, after you're gone. Sometimes, you can make a deal with them to say nice things about you - if you will just go. Since I don't have very much to cut a deal with, I figure - if I want some nice things said - I'd better say them myself.I'm reminded what I once said about a dog that I had. " He never bit anybody..." I don't remember ever biting anyone, either. Another dog, I adopted, kissed everyone. Although I tried to do that, too, I was never as well received as he was.Cats don't try to kiss you. They spend
all of their time licking themselves. A lot of people that I've met do that. While many things are yet within their power to accomplish, they give up.I've learned, there is nothing shameful about trying and failing. It was only a shame when I failed to try. We all get to have our share of failures. No one else gets to have them all. If you've never failed, you have probably never tried to do the impossible, like be a good marriage partner, or eat soup with a fork. I get better at being married each time I try it.In this story, I don't think I'll change the names. No one is so innocent that they need protecting.* * *Izee continuedChapter TwoWe moved to Izee early Saturday, to the house we had never seen the inside of. Mom was following in the car, Dad commandeering a borrowed pickup with all of our earthly possessions. Robert came with us to Izee, this time. Since Mom would be explaining to him "The boardinghouse rules" for high school away from home," I rode with Dad think
ing it was funny that my brother got to eat more dirt than I did, as they followed us over the miles of unpaved road. Like a filthy phantom from planet dust, Robert kept emerging from the 52 Ford, recovering anything that blew off our loosely tied down load. He looked even scarier when it started to rain.[Continue on in Chapter Two if you still wish to read more.]

Leaving Van Gogh by Carol Wallace: A Review

What might it feel like to be a brilliant painter wrapped in a straitjacket? Leaving Van Gogh by Carol Wallace, published by Random House, probes the frustration felt by the artist who had been in an insane asylum for a year. The novel is told from the perspective of Dr. Gachet, the artist's psychiatrist, whose own grief and sense of helplessness add to the melancholy that pervades the book. Leaving Van Gogh is a brave, well-researched and compassionate account of the relationship between the two men and the last months of the great painter's life.Wallace aptly portrays enigmatic Vincent Van Gogh, the prolific artist, who painted to quiet the demons in his head and because he felt his art could help the world. Dr. Gachet, psychiatrist and friend, observes a mellow, tender man who experienced occasional flashes of rage followed by despondency. Not a biography of Van Gogh, the book rather traces the relationship between the two men and aptly captures Dr. Gachet's frustration a
t his futile attempts to treat a man he comes to care about deeply.Ms. Wallace, an art historian, researched not only the painter's 900 letters but also nineteenth century understandings of mental illness. In an interview, she relates how Vincent "hijacked the narrative" originally intended to focus on Dr. Gachet. She paints both men with sympathy and clarity.Clouds of sadness mingled with descriptions of dazzling paintings drift over this dark novel about the last year of Vincent Van Gogh's life.I thank LibraryThing and Random House for providing a review copy. The opinions expressed are unbiased and wholly that of the reviewer.

Want Presentations That Rock? Joey Asher's 15 Minutes Including Q&A Delivers

"The best presentations are conversations where the listeners participate and get what they want. If there are lots of questions, then the chances are that your listeners are going away with what they need," says Joey Asher in his new book, 15 Minutes Including Q&A: A Plan to Save the World From Lousy Presentations.Though this book is only 4 X 6 inches and 106 pages, it's filled with lots of useful information and tons of examples. At the end of each chapter there is a key takeaway which is a synopsis of the chapter. I was asked to review this book, and I'd like to share my thoughts with you.The author Joey Asher suggests that presentations should be 15 minutes long, equally divided between the presentation and the question and answer section. There shouldn't be more than six slides for your PowerPoint, which are created after you've fleshed out what you'd like to cover in the presentation. Is it a surprise that someone would write such a book in an age with micro-bloggin
g at 140 characters, in a world with people who have short attention spans?15 Minutes Including Q & A has three sections: Part I: Prepare a Seven-Minute Rifle Shot Presentation, Part II: Allow Listeners to Fill in the Blanks and Raise Objections with Q & A, Part III: Deliver the Presentation with Intensity.Breakdown of Your PresentationStep 1: The Hook - 30 seconds - Quick identification of the problem/issue/challenge and resolution
Step 2: The Preview - 30 seconds - Three key points/messages to solve the problem
Step 3: The Body of the Presentation - five minutes - Restate and expand on each of the three points, and provide examples to illustrate each point
Step 4: The Recap - 30 seconds - Repeat the three key points/messages
Step 5: Call to Action - 30 seconds - What next? What do you expect from the audience? This presentation model focuses on problem/solution, challenge/response and question/answer, and there is a strong emphasis on question and answer section, so the format is more engaging. The book walks you through the process of creating your presentation in the form of telling a story. The Formula for a Good Presentation StoryStart with the point
Tell the story chronologically
Keep it tight but give some details
The more personal the story the better
Remind the audience of the point at the endFor professionals to use this model effectively require them to know what the key issues are that affect their audiences. They have to be focused, and know their content inside out. If you do not know what the issues are, Joey Asher suggests that you call a few people who will be attending the presentation and ask them, or you could also email them with one or two questions. To ensure that you know your content, and come across as being confident, and an expert, simply mean that you Rehearse, Rehearse and then Rehearse some more. And if you are terrified that you'll be asked questions in the Q & A that you cannot answer since an equal amount of time is dedicated, think about 15 questions that the audience would likely ask, and prepare answers for them, so you are ready for almost anything.5 Great IdeasIf you're focused, you can say anything you want to say in seven minutes
Speak to your audience like you're having a highly animated dinner conversation
Start your presentation by putting your finger on the key issue or question that your audience cares about
Presenting is a spoken art. You can't prepare by simply flipping through your slides. Rehearse, rehearse and rehearse
Know the first two lines of your presentation to help you relax and build your confidenceThree Questions to Ask and Answer Before Preparing Your PresentationWhat problem needs solving?
What are the three things that you absolutely want your audience to remember?
What action would you like your audience to take after the presentation?I liked this book because it's easy to read, and has information that you can immediately apply. It's practical! Even though it's for presentations, the model will work for some forms of writing. It's always important to keep it tight, always focused on the needs of your audience (reader or client). A challenge for this idea, is to convince people that quality is more important than quantity. I recommend 15 Minutes Including Q&A: A Plan to Save the World From Lousy Presentations by Joey Asher.

Think Like a Trader: 7 Principles of Consistency

The biggest leap forward in my trading came when I began to think like a trader. This important realization was a result of training my brain to think in terms of probabilities. The best book hands down (for me at least) that helped me think this way was Trading in the Zone by Mark Douglas.Thinking in probabilities did a lot more for me than just help analyze my trades. It allowed me to trade with more confidence because I knew the likely statistical outcome of a given series of trades.I'd like to pull from some of Mark Douglas's work in this post to help you better understand how thinking like a trader will lead to trading with more confidence and being more consistent.Think in Sample SizesIt is extremely important to look at the markets in terms of probabilities. This will help you understand your edge and calm your emotions from trade to trade. I like to think in sample sizes of 20 trades. Rather than look at my profit/loss for the day or week, I monitor my p/l in ticks fo
r the last 20 trades. Each individual trade you make is simply one of thousands of trades that you will make over the course of your trading. If you keep this in mind and limit your risk on every trade then mentally there is no need to fret over one or two losing trades, or even a string of losing trades.Monitor your last 20 trades. What is your worst string of 20 trades? What is your best string of 20 trades? The numbers may surprise you.Eliminate the Emotional RiskThinking in terms of probabilities also helps remove the emotional risk of trading. Mark Douglas talks about the 5 Fundamental Truths, they are as follows...1. Anything can happen 2. You don't need to know what is going to happen next in order to make money 3. There is a random distribution between wins and losses for any given set of variables that define an edge 4. An edge is nothing more than an indication of a higher probability of one thing happening over another 5. Every moment in the market is uniqueWhen yo
u train your mind to think in this way, the emotional stress and fear of pulling the trigger diminishes. You become less concerned with the outcome of each individual trade and more concerned with how it fits into the larger statistical set.How to Create an Edge Like a CasinoThe outcome of each individual trade is random, but the outcome a statistical set can create an edge. I found that approaching the markets with the 5 fundamental truths in mind; I am better able to focus on the bigger picture, and less on the individual winners and losers. So how is it that a casino creates an edge? They put the odds in their favor. Creating a reward to risk ratio of 3:1 (or close to it) allows for you to be wrong less than half the time and still make money. This also allows for the costs of commission and slippage to be absorbed into your trading without taking a large hit to your bottom line. All it takes is 51% to create an edge. In the markets, the ability to let those winners run and
not cap your winning trades will make all the difference if you are successfully able to cap your losing trades.Become an Observer: ExerciseThink about how objective we are when observing the markets with no money on the line. This is the state of mind we are looking to create throughout an entire trade. Win, lose, or scratch. One exercise I find useful is to visualize yourself standing just behind yourself, watching over your shoulder as you trade.Does this trade meet your entry criteria? Are you taking this trade of boredom or because you're afraid of "missing out"? Are you sure you want to break your rules? Why don't you take a break for a bit. These are some questions the observing self would ask your conscious self. Once you've identified your edge, practice executing your trades the same way, each and every time. Use this observer exercise to help keep you in check and remain disciplined. The 7 Principles of ConsistencyMark Douglas talks about 7 principles which help be
ginning traders develop into consistent winners over time. The following are his list of guiding principles...1. I objectively identify my edges 2. I predefine the risk of every trade 3. I completely accept the risk or I am willing to let go of the trade 4. I act on my edges without reservation or hesitation 5. I pay myself as the market makes money available to me 6. I continually monitor my susceptibility for making errors 7. I understand the absolute necessity of these principles. I never violate them.So to think like a trader means to think in terms of probabilities, identify your edge, execute your trades the same way each and every time and take every setup that fits your criteria. Look to analyze your trades in sample sizes and not individually. Doing these things (over time), can help develop a level of confidence and consistency in your trading. If you haven't already read it, I recommend picking up a copy of Trading in the Zone. One of the best books on trading that
I have been able to put to use.

Introduction To - Whooo Cooks For You?

Whooo Cooks For You provides an introduction to plant-based, whole foods consciousness and cooking for the whole family. Both children and adults alike will enjoy the simple down to earth messages and hands-on cooking instructions. In this fast paced world, wouldn't it be a pleasure to take the time to listen to a wise old owl ask "Whooo Cooks For You?" and consider what this really means!?The seemingly simple question "who cooks for you?' actually has serious implications as a deep philosophical, psychological and spiritual question concerning how to create optimal health for every individual in the family as well as greater community! Many of us have heard the old adage, "you are what you eat". Who cooks for us affects what we eat and therefore who we are. In answering the question "who cooks for you?', we gain an understanding of the value the cook brings to an individual, a relationship, a family, a community, and to the world. Ultimately, what better way to say "I Love You
" than to say "I'll Cook For You!"? And what better way to say "I Value You" than to cook a wholesome, healthy, sustainable meal with love and kindness. This family of authors believes that preparing, cooking and serving natural wholesome organic plant-based food for someone is one of the most loving and sacred activities one can do for another as well as one of the most precious gifts one can give to another! It is our hope and prayer that this book, which answers the questions: who, where, when, why, what, and how regarding the selection and preparation of life-sustaining food - will elevate the sometimes modern day 'drudgery' of cooking to the greatest art and joy in the world, lead to greater awareness, enlightenment and overall well-being, and result in the greater health of humanity and one peaceful world.

"Monstrous Regiment" by Terry Pratchett

Meet Polly Perks. She is about to find out that becoming a boy sounds easy, it even looks easy from studying the boys at her family's inn, but actually chopping off your hair and wearing trousers is not quite all there is to it. Still, she has to find her lost brother. And in order to do so, she has to enlist in the army. And there's a war going on. Her country is good at waging war, or at least, it sure knows how to find one. The army is low on recruits, though of course they would never admit that they are losing. Right now, they'll take anyone...Soon, they are off to the frontline, without training, and with the enemy on their heels. All they have going for them is sergeant Jackrum, the most skilled and cunning sergeant the army has ever seen. And a vampire with a coffee addiction. And someone who knows a lot about fire... Of course, there is the Secret. In "Monstrous Regiment", a Discworld novel, we meet some new and endearing characters to join well-known and beloved chara
cters such as Vimes and Angua. This makes for a fresh and pleasant combination. As always, Pratchett made me giggle a lot with his clever sense of humour and his remarkable insights into human nature. But there is more to this book than comedy. It also addresses the strange and silly game that is war and what can happen when you blindly follow religion. Don't get me wrong, the book is not anti-religion. In fact, it shows how strength of faith can overcome many obstacles. It's just that it touches on what can happen when you stick to religion when it has stopped being practical and has stopped making any sense. And it does so in a non-preachy and entertaining way.The characters in the regiment are diverse and, as mentioned before, rather endearing. They come from all different backgrounds and species - there is a vampire, a troll, a dwarf and an Igor, to name some examples, and they learn to work together and use the other's strengths to survive.Though it may sound like the bo
ok is one big, moral lesson, this is not the case. "Monstrous regiment" is gripping, funny, silly, touching and if it makes the reader think then, well, that is a bonus.Pratchett has a wonderful way of writing. A lot of his humour is hidden in his word-choices and twists and turns of sentences. That is why the reader can read and re-read any book in the Discworld series and still find something freshly entertaining. If you are new to the Discworld series, you can just jump right in with this one. It will probably make you want to read all the others, though. If you are an experienced Discworld reader, you won't be disappointed with this addition.I would recommend this book to anyone.According to the author's bio, Terry Pratchett lives behind a keyboard in Wiltshire and says he 'doesn't want to get a life, because it feels as though he's trying to lead three already'. He was appointed OBE in 1998 and his first Disworld novel for children, "The Amazing Maurice and His Educated
Rodents" was awarded the 2001 Carnegie Medal."Monstrous Regiment" was originally published in Great Britain by Doubleday, a division of Transworld Publishers. The ISBN is 0-552-14941-1.

A Case of Wild Justice? By Yvonne Jerrold - Book Review

Hannah Meadows finds herself in a traumatic dilemma. Her sister won't talk to her. Her grandson, Billy, is in police custody and she has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. The neighborhood is overrun with intimidating young hoodlums, gangs of uncontrolled teenagers. Plagued recently with the nagging guilt of a well-kept secret of her past Hannah becomes restless and confused.Hannah needs an action plan to rescue her family and save the community. A group of concerned seniors are fighting back against this crime and vandalism in a concerted effort to right the wrongs. Hannah joins the cause of the "silver bees."Jerrold uses a unique technique for developing her plot through back flashes into the past that introduce the reader both to the incidents surrounding the characters and the personality of the characters. She allows the reader to see glimpses into their innermost feelings. This results in a kind of mystical insight into, and empathy for, an amazing cast of likeable
characters. Readers will recognize the friction of sibling rivalry and the differences in parental reactions in discipline philosophies and the resultant frustrations that, spoken and unspoken, can fester unresolved for years. As the story unfolds, Hannah is confronted with the fact that her grandson Billy has an unexplainable, dark, evil fascination with inflicting pain on others. She saw this first when she observed Billy capturing insects, later small animals and, more recently, suspected him of being a gang leader spreading fear and terror among the elderly. Hannah describes it this way, "Behind his casual insouciance, behind his inscrutable smile, lay a dangerously antisocial intelligence unfettered by ties of human affection."After several incidents of deaths of an elder victim and a young hoodlum, due to unexplained accidents, arson, and bombings, with accompanying suicide notes from the elderly victims, "the silver bees" issue a statement to the newspapers. "We are d
etermined to fight back against the wave of crime and intimidation currently being directly against the elderly..." This statement leads to a newspaper report stating, "...the current bombing campaign is being masterminded...by our own frail elderly citizens."Watching her family disintegrate with the news that Billy is being released from custody, Hannah is torn as she experiences the curse of old age and the knowledge that her illness could end her life at any time. Her thoughts turn to violence, to murder as self-defense, even though she believes that no one is beyond redemption. The story is geographically set in a small English neighborhood but is universal in its appeal. Every preceding paragraph, page and chapter leads to the suspenseful build up of the final chapters. In this masterfully crafted, haunting novel, "A Case of Wild Justice?," Yvonne Jerrold has captured the plight of the aging citizen and the psychological warfare that often exists within the family circle

Great Ideas and Fairy Tale Stories

Life's lesson are taught in various ways. Stories are one way to share ideas, beliefs, entertainment, information, and life struggles. Fairy tales are stories that mark inspiring and intelligent literature for all.History shows that fiction story writers are people with profound depth and goodness in their hearts. Readers have to find out the moral value of the story. Thank God for the beautiful stories and the writers who help us see life, with hope and faith that goodness saves man.The Sorcerer's Apprentice (as retold)The Shoemaker and the Elves by Sue UllsteinPinnochio by Carlo "Collodi" LorenziniThe Little Match Girl by Hans Christian AndersenThe Sorcerer's Apprentice"The Sorcerer's Apprentice" features Nicholas Cage and Jay Baruchel in a fairy tale based story this 2010.There are revisions and new ideas. For one fiction story to create effects and highlight, modifications are made. Virtues are highlighted in the films. In the end the village boy triumphs with the magic, a
nd helps his village/community with his bird friend to get good harvests. The Shoemaker and the ElvesStories are woven to show the beauty of life in simple things. The poor shoemaker works hard in his old age (and with his wife), then creates the finest shoes in their village. The elves help them because they are a good couple who works hard. The wife makes clothes for the elves and there is sharing and support in the old couple and the elves.Life is sharing in whatever form, and with everyone else.PinocchioThe Pinocchio story is the puppet (turned-real boy), who lies and gets his nose longer because of lying. Kids love the animation of this story. I could recall the toy stories in the movies where everything moves. After the troubles, Pinocchio becomes a good boy and stays out of trouble. Again the virtue of goodness and honesty are shown. The Little Match GirlHow lovely! But this story is a sad story of a poor little girl forced by a bad parent to sell matches in the cold snow
y night. Another heartless boy robs her shoes. The little match girl comes freezing to death in the snow while working. The symbols used in the story are vivid and deeply touching the heart. In the end the little match girl dies and gets reunited with her grandmother to join with God.Here we can see the abused children molested to do adult duties. While they are supposed to study and enjoy life, some people abuse them.Children are angels, we have to help them live and enjoy life.

The Popular Urdu Fiction Stories by Umera Ahmed

The Urdu popular fiction is blessed to have writers like Umera Ahmed. In Pakistan, the penetration of the popular fiction among the masses is not much. Nevertheless, it is not less either. Especially the Urdu popular fiction extends beyond the urban population. Of course, the English popular fiction is read among the city dwellers only.Umera Ahmed started her writing career from the popular fiction digests. The digests in which she contributed a lot are the Khawateen Digest and the Shua Digest, both belonging to the same group of publishers. She also wrote a few Urdu stories and novels for Pakeezah digest. An interesting fact about Umera Ahmed is that she has done masters in English literature. Yet she chose to write stories and novels in Urdu. There can be several reason of why Umera chose to write in Urdu. A simple reason is that Umera Ahmed has always wanted to reach the masses through her writings and in Pakistan, reaching the masses is possible only if it is done by choos
ing the Urdu language as the medium.Umera Ahmed has touched different topics while writing in the Urdu language. The topic of her initial novels was the self-esteem of the women of Pakistan. She especially wrote about the self-esteem of the women who are not very much physically endowed and often considered ugly by the society. She urged the plain looking women to develop their personality and careers in a way that the looks become a secondary thing not only to them but also to the people around them. After writing about the self-esteem of the women for a while, Umera Ahmed started to write Urdu stories and novels on Pakistan's bureaucracy. One of her very famous Urdu novels on Pakistan's bureaucracy is called 'Amer Bail'.Umera Ahmed is also known for another distinguished style of writing. She wrote a lot of novels on the religious topics in Urdu. Umera's writings on the religious topics are distinctive because of many reasons. Her style is not preachy at all. She has proper
storylines and character building, unlike many other writers who produce Urdu religious stories.Although there are many novels of Umera Ahmed, which became bestsellers, however some novels of her broke all the records. For example Peer-e-Kamil (S.A.W), Meri Zaat Zara e Benishan, Man-o-Salwa etc. The most famous of Umera's novel among these is the Peer-e-Kamil (S.A.W).After producing a lot of extremely popular Urdu novels and stories for the digests, Umera Ahmed proceeded to write for the TV. She has written stories and scripts for countless TV drama serials and short plays now. Due to her engagements at TV, Umera has stopped writing for the digest, although the digest audience still misses her and craves for her writings. Another reason people say that Umera left writing for the Urdu digests is because after reading the Peer-e-Kamil, people's expectations from Umera became too high. So instead of writing in pressure, Umera stepped ahead to write for an entirely different aud
ience.

The Temple of Master Hotei - By Denise "Lapis" LeFay

This uniquely fascinating book  is a little gem that holds a big surprise.   It consists entirely of the past life memories of the author, an autobiography of a previous existence lived in ancient China, and documented  by Ms. LeFay after a series of unfolding and undeniable recollections.  Whether one is a proponent of the doctrine of reincarnation, or one is not, or if one has toyed with the concept but not come to a firm conclusion regarding it, this enchanting story will nonetheless charm and entertain any who accept it's invitation to enter the temple of Master Hotei.Set in a far gone era of China's past, the tale unfolds of a young boy named Ivory One.  As a small child he is escorted by his father to the enclave of  a legendary  holy man.  The boy is delivered before the massive, cinnabar colored moon gate of this Holy One's beautiful temple.  Behind that gate lay the world of Master Hotei, a wise and wonderfu
l, greatly revered spiritual teacher.  Today, the world is familiar with the Master Hotei of this story as the figure of the Laughing Buddha. For many years the young boy, Ivory One, lives within those sacred grounds as a disciple and student of the Master.  The story takes the reader on a wondrous journey, side by side with Ivory One, as he learns and grows under the benevolent guidance of Hotei.  Each chapter unfolds a new life-lesson for the boy, through some ingenious discipline or training scenario devised by the inventive, ever joyful master.  With great playfulness he tends to his beloved disciple's spiritual development through the years.   Ivory One's soul unfolds in ever developing understanding until one day he earns a new name: Jade One.  Jade is a highly prized stone of Chinese tradition,  the embodiment of truth, beauty and spiritual strength.  The reader will be pulled from chapter to chapter in eager anticipati
on of each new, enlightening experience that Ivory One, now Jade One, encounters. We  witness the deeply loving relationship that grows between master and disciple, and become privy to the spiritual benefits of such a relationship.  Jade One grows to young manhood under Hotei's protection within the sacred precincts of the temple grounds, until he reaches a decisive juncture within himself.  The decision he makes as he stands at this juncture is startling and unexpected, even to Jade One.  The story reaches a heart wrenching climax, full of the grief of separation and  regret, yet holds the promise of ever new beginnings and continuing cycles of cosmic becoming.Spiritual insights are embedded within every page of this book, splendid little jewels offered with child-like simplicity and stunning clarity.  It is a treasure chest of the profound truths that every one  of us desire to find, but may not be so fortunate as to discover.  B
y walking with Jade One  through the temple's peaceful gardens, beside the wisdom whispering brook, and sitting with him at the feet of his laughter filled teacher, we too partake of the eternal truths so benignly bestowed by Master Hotei.  Is this story indeed the memory of a previous life?  Is such a thing possible?  - more than half  the world's population believe that reincarnation is an unquestionable fact of life.  Or is the book just the product of a very creative imagination?  However you choose to answer the foregoing questions will have no bearing on the enjoyability of reading this book.  You will come away from the experience richer for having had it.
