Spirit Bound continues on from the fourth book, Blood Promise, in the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. Previously, Rose ventured to Russia in order to kill the man she loves Dimitri, who became a Strigoi, an evil vampire. Rose thought she had killed him after she plunged a silver stake into his heart, and watches him fall into a river. Little did Rose know that the stake had just missed his heart, the letter delivered to Rose stated that Dimitri had given Rose a choice to join him or he would kill her.Spirit Bound takes place a few months later when Rose graduates the Academy. Now alone in the world and not protected by the wards of the Academy Dimitri would be coming for her. Rose had not given up hope for Dimitri and believes there is one way to save Dimitri.This involves a prison break of Victor Dashkov who had threatened and hurt her best friend Lissa in order to save his own life. Rose believes Victor's half brother Robert has the knowledge of how to turn back St
rigoi to their former state. The adventure sends Rose and Lissa to Alaska then the bright lights of Vegas where they reconnect with some dangerous characters.The book answers many questions can Dimitri be saved? What will he be if he is saved? Would he recognise Rose and would they share what they once shared? And of course what trouble has Rose gotten into this time?This book delivers and leaves you satisfied until the next book is released on the 7th of December 2010. The Vampire Academy Series takes you to a world of Rose, her role as a half vampire half human, Dhampir, acting as a guardian in order to save good full vampires, Moroi, from the evil vampires of the world, Strigoi. The books are highly recommended and the series is a standout for vampire fiction.
