How Is Your Attitude Today?

I was in the local Meijer's store recently to do some marketing for one of my opportunities, when I ran across a little gem of a book in the book section. There are many books written about our attitude and working on making and keeping our thoughts and attitude positive. Many I have read over the years. And many I intend to read over and over again. Classic books are meant to be read and read often. We get the most from these books when we not only read them... but study them... read them over and over. That is how we learn in school. We are taught the lesson by the teacher and we take notes. Then we are given homework to read out of our textbook. We read the assignment. We take more notes... hopefully. And when exams roll around, we read our notes again and maybe even read the reading assignment again to be sure we know the subject. When we graduate from school and go out into the "real world" we don't always follow that pattern. We are lucky to read a good book once, let al
one read it again. And yet, that same process can still be applied to our learning today as it was back in school. Find the good books. Read them. And then read them again. The classics as well as the new ones. They say knowledge is power. But that is only half the story. Truly, it is applied knowledge that is the real power. And this little gem reminds us of these things. It is a short little book, about 200 pages of bigger type and quotations. Some of the quotations are classics of great authors of the past and some are by the author himself. But they all encourage the same principles... creating and maintaining a positive mental attitude. This can only come about by daily practice. You cannot develop a healthy positive attitude by reading something once. It requires hard work and constant work. Daily activity. What is this book called?Jeffrey Gitomer's Little Gold Book of YES! Attitude: How to Find, Build and Keep a YES! Attitude for a Lifetime of SUCCESS (Jeffrey Gitomer'
s Little Books)Jeffrey Gitomer has become a big name in the world of sales and sales motivation. Now you might not have a sales job. But don't let that stop you from reading this little book. Jeffrey has been working on his attitude for many years. And, according to the book, he will continue to work on his attitude, his YES! attitude, for many more years to come. This little book is full of quick lessons on creating and developing you own YES! Attitude no matter what your occupation. It includes many examples from the classic motivators of the past such as Zig Ziglar and Jim Rohn, as well as the older motivators such as Dale Carnegie, Earl Nightingale, Napoleon Hill and Orison Swett Marden. He encourages adding all of these classics to your personal library and read daily. Just a couple pages a day can make a big difference. The nice thing about this book is that it is perfect to read not only from cover to cover, but it is also perfect in daily bite-sized portions. This bo
ok along with the other classic books recommended inside it, will do wonders in your life if you add them to your daily diet for your mind.I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have picked up a few more of his books in his "Little" book series. I intend to review them as well as I finish them.I would also like to review many of the others I have read over the years. I even intend to read them again in order to do them justice. Fine books, like fine wine should be savored... many times to get the full benefit. As some of you read this, you may think that this is just philosophy. But as the great Jim Rohn says...Philosophy drives attitude.Attitude drives actions.Actions drive results. Results drive lifestyles."It's your thoughts behind the words you speak that create your attitude." -Jeffrey Gitomer
