Fiction's Russell Solomon Is Going Places

When it comes to mystery or thriller writers, there are a few that almost everyone knows - Agatha Christie, John Grisham and even Arthur Conan Doyle. You may even recognize a few more of the more traditional mass paperback novelists that are somehow able to churn out a few books per year. Russell Solomon is the newest of all the thriller writers, and he has spent his entire life building the know-how to write his first book, "The Lost Pendulum of Montrose."This modern-day thriller, set in a small village of New Hampshire, focuses on a renowned paleontologist and a cultural anthropologist who put their heads together to solve a mystery in their local town. When bones and ancient cultural relics are dug up in the graveyard, they have to figure out exactly what was going on generations before.Russell Solomon is no stranger to paleontology. Although he received his degree in journalism, his love has always been paleontology - the study of prehistoric life through fossils and othe
r organisms. His mother tells of how, when he was a child, he was transfixed on digging in their backyard and any park he was ever taken to. He knew that someday he would find a bone. His interest in paleontology continued through school and long after.Russell Solomon is primarily known for being a successful journalist in the Southern California area. Being a native Californian himself, he has been writing about Hollywood and the surrounding areas in print and online for many years and has also spent much of that time working on "The Lost Pendulum of Montrose." Now that this novel has become so popular, he is focusing on writing his second thriller, which is set for release sometime in the spring of 2011. Readers who love his first work are bound to love the follow-up.
