Work is hard to find, money is quite difficult to earn, and people are getting weary carrying their feelings of depression. Atticus, the sleeping town's local lawyer, raised Scout and Jem Finch with much support about individualism and uniqueness. The single parent tries to instill the value of respect and honor about individualism to his two children. The children are literally growing up and outgrowing their interest over the passive town.Scout and Jem -- To Kill a Mockingbird SummaryScout and Jem together with their playmate and best friend Dill tried to get out of their boredom by persistently inviting their neighbor Boo Radley to get out of the house. He personally involves himself on a case with Tom Robinson. Tom Robinson is a black man accused of raping Mayella Ewell. They start to treat Atticus in a very unfavorable manner for trying to defend the black man. The treatment affected the children even at school. Atticus implores them to be more patient and understanding over the situation so as not to let the town's behavior affect them.The Trial -- To Kill a Mockingbird SummaryAs the trial progresses, the children note that Tom has a crippled left hand and obviously lacks the strength and the capability

She is unmindful of the fear and the pain. It thrills her to know she sees now the man they want to come out of the house for so long. As they were walking towards their homes, she begins to understand that he was always watching them sitting near the window of his front porch.
